Lola Blomquist lives and works in Åhus and in Österlen in Skåne. Her paintings were first exhibited in 2019, and Lola has since held a number of solo exhibitions. Lola paints landscapes that lie somewhere between the abstract and the realistic. She often draws inspiration from the landscape around Hanö Bay and down towards Österlen. Her style is often pared-back and minimalist,

with an emphasis on colour. She aims to capture the ever-changing landscape and sky. Sculpture is also part of her artistic practice; Lola works using an ancient technique involving linseed oil and natural pigments, rather than firing and glazing. This places less strain on the environment but results in sculptures that are just as durable. The process is lengthy, and each sculpture requires different treatments.
